Teriyaki Pork Spareribs Recipe
Craving for a taste of Tokyo, but want to enjoy it from the comfort and pleasure of your own home? Sometimes all you want is a leisurely meal instead of the expense and fuss of going to a restaurant, but Japanese cuisine is not something that is typically whipped up in Filipino households. Fortunately, with the availability of ready mixes and sauces that capture the unique sweet and salty combinations that you can find in the Land of The Rising Sun, you can enjoy the best Japanese food thanks to a little bit of work in your own kitchen! Teriyaki pork spareribs are a wonderful twist on the usual grilled pork entrees, retaining the moisture of the meat thanks to a flavorful marinade, and it’s perfect served with sautéed vegetables and a cup of hot rice. For added authenticity, toss some toasted sesame seeds on top of the pork, and serve with plenty of tea. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. Pork spareribs
- Kikkoman Teriyaki Baste & Glaze Sauce
Procedures:
- Tenderize the ribs on low heat by boiling for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Prick the meat with a fork to check desired tenderness.
- Remove meat from pot and marinate in Teriyaki sauce for about 30 minutes. You will probably use close to half a bottle. Thin the teriyaki sauce with a little bit of water until slightly runny.
- Heat up about 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Brown the ribs on all sides on high heat. Add the marinade. Stir the ribs well into the sauce until it thickens and adheres to the ribs. Serve immediately.
